The H.E.J Research Institute of Chemistry, under the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) at the University of Karachi, has announced multiple job openings for qualified professionals. These positions are part of a project for the establishment, upgradation, and operation of CPQL (Central Pesticide Quality Control Laboratory) and FPTRL (Food Pesticide Testing and Research Laboratory) at the Department of Plant Protection, Karachi.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with expertise in chemistry, microbiology, engineering, and accounting to work in a prestigious research environment. The positions are offered on a contract basis for three years with yearly renewal based on performance.
Available Positions
Senior Technical Expert
- No. of Vacancies: 01
- Qualification: Ph.D. or Master’s in Organic/Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Biomedical Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years in a well-equipped analytical lab (Pharmaceutical/Pesticide Residues, Aflatoxin, Heavy Metals analysis). Hands-on experience with GCMS, LCMS, HPLC is required.
- Salary: Rs. 300,000 per month (Fixed).
2. Microbiologist
- No. of Vacancies: 02
- Qualification: M.Sc. / BS in Microbiology or Biotechnology.
- Experience: At least 5 years in a well-equipped lab with experience in PCR and RT-PCR. Preference will be given to candidates with an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Food Auditor course.
- Salary: Rs. 120,000 per month (Fixed).
3. Senior Chemist
- No. of Vacancies: 03
- Qualification: Master’s in Biomedical/Biochemical Engineering, Analytical/Organic Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience: 5 years in pharmaceutical/chemical/food labs, with expertise in HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV, AA, ICP-OES. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is preferred.
- Salary: Rs. 120,000 per month (Fixed).
4. Lab Technician

- Qualification: Intermediate with Science or Diploma.
- Experience: Prior experience as a laboratory attendant is preferred.
- Salary: Rs. 50,000 per month (Fixed).
5. Electronic Engineer

- Qualification: BE / MS in Electronic Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years working with analytical equipment.
- Salary: Rs. 100,000 per month (Fixed).
6. Lab Assistant / Attendant

- Experience: At least 2 years working with analytical equipment.
- Salary: Rs. 40,000 per month (Fixed).
