Scam Alert: Watch Out for This Fake PTA Call – They’re After Your Bank Info

Hey everyone, be careful! There are scammers out there pretending to be from the PTA, and they’re trying to trick you into giving them your personal and financial information over the phone.

Here’s how the scam usually goes: you’ll get an automated call from a woman’s voice that starts with, “Assalam-o-Alaikum, this is a call from PTA.” Right away, they try to scare you by saying there’s been a complaint against your phone number and that it’s been proven. Then they threaten to block all the SIM cards registered under your name within two hours unless you give them more details. They’ll tell you to press 9 on your phone, just like you would with an automated bank call.

If you press 9, the scammers will start asking for things like your ID card number and bank account details, claiming they need it to fix the problem. They’ll even warn you that if you don’t cooperate, your phone services will be cut off right away.

Important Warning for Everyone

These calls are totally fake and have nothing to do with the real PTA. Please, don’t share any personal or financial information with these callers. Their goal is to steal money from your bank account or use your identity for illegal stuff.

What You Should Do

  • Hang up the call as soon as you realize it’s suspicious.
  • Don’t give out any personal or financial details, no matter what they say.
  • Report the incident to the FIA and PTA.
  • Tell your friends and family about this scam so they can stay safe too!
